About Naomi R. Schechter
Contemporary Fine Artist Naomi R. Schechter is known for luminous floral and landscape oil paintings that blend realism with quiet poetry. Working primarily in large-scale oils on gallery-wrap canvas, she builds layered glazes and fine brushwork to invite calm reflection and a sense of presence. Her paintings have been exhibited in shows across South Florida, including the Bonnet House Museum in Fort Lauderdale (where she most recently received a 1st place People’s Choice Ribbon!), the Delray Library, Chapel 4 (in Delray Beach), and most notably 2 large solo exhibitions in the Broward County Library system’s North and Northwest Regional galleries. Her work appears in private collections throughout the United States. A lifelong observer of the natural world, Naomi draws her palette from natural light and from the calm inside movement: morning light across petals, sky mirrored on water, the hush beneath color. Each composition is a dialogue between structure and softness, between what is seen and what is felt.
Each painting begins as silence, color emerging from calm. I aim for the work to feel personal and enduring, rooted in the visible world yet reaching beyond it.
